freecycle question

hmmmmmmm maybe our own forum might be the way to go ?
When I initially mentioned this some weeks/months back it was mainly (though not 100%) doing so tongue in cheek.
Maybe we might wan't to consider it ?
Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -
I agree Pam, what's wrong with having a chat and posting freecycle if that's what the majority want?

See you all later.
Take care, xxxxI wish you......

Hi just popped into the thread to see what all the variable comments were about.
For what it's worth (and I really don't want to offend anyone either for or against the thread,) but we have lost a number of threads because of system overload and which slowed the site up considerably. It was explained that sites that didn't promote moneysaving ideas would be deleted and we lost some good threads as a result.
One of you mentioned starting up your own forum (I believe a certain Nelly had similar ideas) where it was yours to do with what you want. IMO it beats being pushed from pillar top post and the freecycle thread could continue just as that "A freecycle thread"

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Have you looked in the Arms recently? The only thing moneysaving about most of the threads in therre is the fact that while people are posting in there they aren't out spending money. If there is any pruning being done, I think a lot of other stuff needs to go before we do.How sweet it is to do nothing..... and then rest afterwards.0 -

It would make sense.
Threads popping up everywhere at the moment.
Regular freecycle posters don't know which thread to post on.
I think judderman suggested it a while back.;)I wish you......

There are loads of threads that have naff all to do with money saving and have no relevance to this site at all, they survive so why cant we?
At least the basis of our chats is initially formalised around the principles and activities of freecycle which is a worth while cause, reduces landfill, protects the environment, saves some of us money when we receive a gift, and overall has a positive effect on reducing our individual carbon footprint. We actively encourage positive action to make freecycle a friendly, well mannered site where we respect that actions and opinions of others.
Before slagging off the regular posters (and the lurkers who occasionally admit addiction to the !!!! we post) please review how much of a positive effect YOU are having on this site.
MSE is a marvelous site and I do not intend to leave it or to stop posting, despite the suspicions of a couple of people regarding my motives for being here.
Yes, this is not the right title for the thread or the right location but freecycle equals money saving. The regulars of this thread generally support each other and will spend time to help or listen to each other. We have the occasional fall out between people but then most of us live in the real world were this !!!!!! happens.
If you are neck deep in debt you need help, advice, support. you also need to be able to have a laugh.
Yesterday a friend of mine left her home, her job and most of her friends.
All she has is her clothes and a small amount of cash. She is staying with distant relatives because they could offer her a place to stay away from her violent boyfriend. Check the real world people and ask yourselves what really matters.0 -

I believe I have offered a useful solution to your dilemmas, the point you make isn't about the other Arms thread it's about this one, so making criticisms about other threads before they close yours are irrelevant. By your own admission comments above are talking about being moved all over the place
Instead of complaining why you are being moved just reflect and ask "why not" Somebody must have done it for the benefit of the forum as a whole. I believe the answer is in your own hands........... And believe me I am not a board guides favourite friend by a long shot just a fly on the wall viewer

Can you explain to me how 5500+ posts in the 'Official Arms football thread' (or whatever its title is) has anything remotely to do with moneysaving? One for potential deletion, surely, following your reasoning?
:rolleyes:Hi just popped into the thread to see what all the variable comments were about.
