Honeymoon ideas for September 2015

Hi

We are getting married on 30th August 2015. Initially we had thought of a roadtrip in California but friends who have just gotten married have convinced us that a relaxing break after the wedding may be a better idea, with the road trip the following year. We have a budget of £2,000 and are thinking of going here for 11 nights (1-12 September):

as we were there for for my sister's wedding earlier this year and loved it.

Neither of us is very well travelled or experienced in booking holidays so I would be extremely grateful for any advice anyone may have for us. Given our budget is there anywere you would suggest we go?

Many thanks in advance. :)
"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." Marilyn Monroe

Downside is your expectations may be high and you may occasionally feel "it was better last time we were here"

Also consider Costa smerelda in Sardinia, Corsica, Elounda on Crete, Santorini, Ravello.

A California road trip certainly has the potential to be exhausting, but it need not be if you limit the number of places that you visit and how long you drive each day. For example in the time you have you could do San Francisco, Yosemite, some of the Pacific Coast Highway, and back to San Francisco.
