Bought this house in April. It was covered in woodchip and artex.
We decided to just bite the bullet, and paid a plasterer to come in and strip the walls and ceilings, then do a skim.
Cost £3000, but has saved our sanity. Still have bare plaster in places where we haven't yet painted, but far preferable to nights of scrapping...Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

When we took the chipwood off from the bathroom walls, we found that once you picked at a seam, it gave way and come off in big chunks, just a little layer left to wipe off, xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

Went to the local tool hire shop and got a wallpaper perforator - it's on a long broom type handle so can reach up the wall. It was only £2-something to hire for a week so I've done the bedroom and I'll do the hall/landing/stairs tomorrow. I guess it just helps to get the steam in as many places under the paper as possible. So far, so good!0
