I've heard so many brilliant things about slow cookers, however I am a vegetarian, and OH a meat eater so it has never really been a practical option.
I've spotted divided slow cookers which allow for a seperate dish in each side, and was wondering if anybody has used one with success? Do you think the capacity would be ok etc.?

They also all look reasonably priced - do you get what you pay for in that they might not be as good as higher priced individual ones?

Have you looked at the Q & A on Amazon?
Would taste transfer of meat be an issue for you?
TBH, the one on Amazon looks exactly like my ordinary slow-cooker so I'd say it's probably only the pot that is different, not the workings.0 -
I did have a read of the Q&A but all the other replies said it wasn't an issue.0

I saw a double slow cooker in 'The Range' recently, it has two independent cook pots each with its own temperature controls. might be worth a look.0

I saw a divided slow cooker today in Robert Dyas, one pot but with a solid division down the centre of the oval. I'm wondering if this might be a good investment as it will mean I can cook steak for OH and chicken for me using the same veg and ingredients without having to make two separate casseroles. It should save some electric usage and would definately be quicker than two separate dishes. I'm going to wait until the winter sales though and see if the price comes down the one I saw was £39.99p.0

These do look good but having looked at the Lakeland one I believe it's just an additional divided bowl and not the whole thing?0 -

I think you're right.
It says 'to fit the 6.5 litre slow cooker'.
The Amazon one seems to be the whole thing.0 -
the meat juices would condense on the lid and drip into the veg side. I couldn't stomach that as a veggie myself!2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000

I thought that too and I'm not even a veggie.
Although it would mean some extra outlay I'd be inclined to buy two smallish ones and cook two meals (or more) each then you've got HM ready meals for another day.
Slow cookers are really useful for keeping food warm at parties too.0 -
of course if you have pots that stack, 2 might fit in a large one of these :-)

I'd get two smallish ones and freeze excess portions for lunches...I doubt the difference in electricity will be huge and it should mean less cooking!0
