in Credit cards
If you like me have a Capital One secured credit card, here is some info for you. As you probably know, they no longer offer this product to new customers. I had mine in July 2005, and paid a £139 deposit, and got a £200 limit. Dismal eh! But it worked and helped my credit rating along no end, and meant I got a Vanquis Abacus card with a £1000 limit last year. Ever since though, Capital One keep refusing to return my security deposit, or up my limit, saying the same thing over and over, "all accounts are reviewed on a regular basis blah blah" and I would have to close the account down to get my deposit back. Well, this week, I called them to ask where my new card was as it expires this month and they havent sent it out yet. They told me a new one had been sent out to me already just a few days ago, so I should get it any day now. They also said a letter was on its way to me to tell me they are giving me my deposit back on my September statement, and transferring my card to a standard Classic card instead. Great stuff. She said this was happening to all secured card customers. Also, the new card I am getting is the standard green card, they are doing away with many of the card designs, suits me though, I cant stand my lightning card anymore, the numbers keep rubbing off. So keep your eyes peeled for a letter soon!
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.
