DD's first haircut!

My dd is 4 and has very curly hair which is starting to dry out at the ends.
I feel nervous about taking her to the hairdressers in case they cut too much hair off!
Her hair took ages to grow (she was basically bald til the age of 2.5) and its all different lengths, but where its so curly, the odd lengths dont show
, I just want to get it trimmed.
My SIL is a hairdresser but hubby wants dd to go to a salon (like mummy) for her first haircut. (basically he dont trust his sister enought to cut it! :rotfl:, where as i do
).
I feel really silly as it's only a haircut hehe......
HELP!

whenever ive taken my DD they ask me before she is even in the chair exactly what i want, and will keep asking as they go...
stress to them that you dont want any real length off it, just a bit of a trim and tidy
you wont be the only nervous mum they have had there for the childs first hair cut, so dont worry! it will be fine....

Wow, shes got to 4 before she needs a haircut??? My DS needed his first cut the day before his christening when he was 6 months old!!!
But like CG above, even now when i take DS for a cut they always ask what i want doing and once they have done some they ask if its ok and i usually have to ask for more to be taken off!Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110
