HELP, Really need some help with train fare...
Hi all.
I'm trying to arrange a surprise 40th birthday present for him indoors.
Have organised a show, booked the hotel and have found travel to London for £12.50 each :money: , however, cheapest tickets back I can find are for £53 each.. !!
I need to find train tickets from London to Winsford (or Crewe) on Sunday 14.10.07 (exactly 12 weeks today so cheapest fares should be there but I cant find any..!)
Any help would be really appreciated, failing that it looks like he'll be driving.
Thanks in advance,

Hi at first look found for £32, each but think should be better than that. Try breaking the journey at Birmingham,
Chiltern Rail from london £14.90, on several mid afternoon serivces to Brum
Central trains "standard open single" £18.80 0n several mid/late afternoon services from brum-Winsford.0 -
Go on the Chiltern website, and see if the Just£15. ticket in the special offers could be of use0

Thanks in advance,
Sorry the 12 weeks is a myth - it is not an exact date. Sometimes (particularly for weekend travel) it can be later, possibly a lot later.
Anyway, one option is to use the Virgin Trains site - they will sell you a £27.15 ticket if the cheap ones have sold out. Only condition is that you have to buy a ticket (cheap one if available) both ways. The trainline doesn't offer this option.
Better still don't panic and wait for the cheap fares to be released - they have not yet come out for that date0 -
I really appreciate all your help.:T
I knew someone would know a better option (basically I cant stand the thought of being ripped off).
Got my show tickets in advance, before the winner of the programme had been finalised (going to see Joseph), and booked hotel via priceline (£61 per night for London Marriott Marble Arch) and found good train tickets going, but could not get back for a realistic price... it now looks as thought there is a way and light at the end of the tunnel.... Ha Ha :rotfl:
Thanks everybody have also thanked you all individually too as you have been a real help to me.0 -
If you want an idea of the price then search for ticket prices for september. The prices for advanced tickets are generally the same every day of the week. This country is called Great Britain. It would be called Amazing Britain if it wasn't for people like you pulling the average down0
