As another part of the country is flooded, anyone see some short term opportunities to cash-in on the weird weather?

BUY insurance shares!
Or invest in umbrella futures ;-)
What is with the uk, a bit of rain and the place is flooded, I'm glad I left that horrible place many moons back!0 -
a bit of rain ? ........0

In Hull last month we had a bit of rain (2 months worth in 12 hours), the drains hadn't been cleaned in a short time (10+ years) and a little bit of the surroundings (fields, fields and more fields) have been built upon and concreted = inside my house 1 foot of water, outside 3 foot
Complaining is obviously about nothing:rotfl:
I can tell you how they are profiting up here:
Stealing flood contaminated white goods out of gardens and selling them
Putting up the price of rent on the remaining furnished houses
Putting up labour charges
And if my insurance company is any example, they are earning lots of interest from not paying out any money in any rush:rotfl:0 -
More like megabytes of rain.
To get back on topic, I am informed (reliably or otherwise) by yesterdays Mail that amongst the obvious growth areas, wellies, brollies, last minute holidays etc. sales of frozen pies and carrots are up 162% and sales of slippers at Asda are up 222%.
I leave it to the budding entrepeneurs to capitalise in these expanding markets.:D0 -
Dehumidifiers?
And to those who have been flooded - I cannot begin to imagine the misery you are going through. My heart goes out to you.

Offering bottled water for sale? Seems the obvious one to me with shops ruined and the water about to run out after contamination.0
