TV Licensing Direct Debit Annoyance!

  • I had to bring this up again because I'm trying to pay for my TV license in the smallest possible increments (I'm a student with no funding or loan or even overdraft, and extremely limited monthly income).

I don't want to pay monthly because this will mean paying for one and a half licenses in the first year which is beyond my means. So paying quarterly seems the best option, but their website says: "You pay for your licence in instalments of around £33 per month every three months." So, at £33 PER MONTH, this would be £99 taken per quarter. This surely doesn't make sense, as it would mean nearly £400 paid per year. Am I mistaken or is it just very badly worded on the site?
