Recycle Bin Problem

Hi

When i click on Recycle bin this morning, the option to empty it has gone, it's also gone from the "file" option when I open it.
Can someone help please

Also is there anything in the bin to empty?

I've just done this in IE instead of firefox and added it, but it hasn't made any difference to the recycle bin, should I have done something else?

Are you still able to delete files from the Recycle Bin by selecting them and pressing the 'Delete' key?

When you say the 'Empty Recycle Bin' entry has disappeared from your 'File' menu, what entries do you get on that menu (and are any of them greyed out)?

If I right click on recycle bin on the desktop, I get the ususal options but Empty is greyed out.
If I open it, it doesn't show anything in there and if I click on "file" inside the bin, empty is greyed out again
