Good, cheap Psychological help

Is there anywhere out there to get psychological help for my friend? He really needs some help, his gf is wanting him to go, and he has serious problems. They are really private, is there anywhere good to go online or cheap?

    Hi there

Some charities have counciling services as do some churches - such as the Church of Scotland.

I think that it depends on what the problems are and what area he lives in. I think that he should talk in the first place to his GP

    I hope that this helps

Phone directory has a list of counselling services-most will refer you to someone more appropriate as will the Samaritans. Trade Unions/some insurances/professional organisations have counselling services. The GP surgery sometimes has a resident counsellor on the NHS-ask. I think the GP would be a good place to start-surgeries offer a range of services that for some reason aren't widely 'advertised'

    Good luck

British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy has a search facility for Counsellors local to you. Many available at only £30-40 per hour (depending on where you live).
