Official MSE insert:
Until 2nd September, Blockbuster is renting all kids movies for just 25p per night, no matter how old or new. The promotion's available nationwide, but some stores may not participate, so if in doubt, phone ahead.
Also, bear in mind that late fees are still applicable, so if you can't get back to the shop on time, be sure to phone and say you want the film/s for another night: that way you'll only be charged 25p extra.
Thank you to MoneySaver Lurleene for the top spot.........

Hi all,
Can't see this posted anywhere else-apologies if it has been. I went to Blockbuster this evening to return a DVD and was delighted to discover that all the kids titles were available for 25p each for one night, including this week's releases! :money: I was about to go mad and grab a pile but I asked and apparently this promotion will run for all of the summer holidays until September, and is presumably nationwide. Just the thing to help keep the kiddies entertained through the rain!:)
Hope this is helpful to some of you, especially if like me you are wondering how on earth you will cope cooped up indoors together for the next six weeks!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but as I read it (in the NOTW magazine) it's 25p per extra night that you keep the DVD after you've already paid full price for the first night.0

My local blockbuster is 25p per night"Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering"0

Definitely 25p says so on their website.

Just going to check my nearest store0 -
The new kids film 'The Last Mimzy' just came out on Monday and if this kids promo wasn't running it would have been put out at £3.95 per night. The only downside to this promo is that we are run of our feet at work checking in the tons of kids films that come back every evening0

Becoming a member at your local Blockbuster High Street store is simple.
All we require is for you to be aged 18* and for you to bring with you:- A major credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or debit card (Maestro, Visa Delta or Electron**).
or - Two recent official documents. One showing your current address (e.g. a phone bill, bank statement, etc.) and one showing your signature (e.g. a Driver's Licence, Passport, etc.)
- ** Electron Cards
Since Electron cards can be issued to people aged 16 and above, additional ID may be requested to demonstrate you are over 18. Also whilst American Express and Solo cards are acceptable for signature verification, they are not acceptable as a single form of identification.
:hello:0 - A major credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or debit card (Maestro, Visa Delta or Electron**).

Found this out the other day....
Normally when you rent a new release you only get it for one nights rental but if you get a kids movie for 25p extra you can keep the new release for 2 nights. I think the kids one is only an overnight rental but if you keep that for 2 nights it will only cost you an extra 25p. So basically you can rent 2 dvd's for 2 nights including a new release for the normal price of one + 50p.0 -
Haven't got a Blockbuster very near me, but would like to remind all MSEers that your local library will stock DVDs for between £1-£3 for a whole week! Kids ones are nearly always a quid, adult ones can be £3 for new releases. And you may even get your kids into reading while you're there! Libraries often have summer reading challenges for kids, with stickers and medals, etc.:TProud to be dealing with my debts :T0

[/list]Can I use my Solo card as the 'major' credit or debit card, Im not really sure from the terms stated on their website for membership
Most Blockbuster stores count visa, mastercard or maestro as major credit or debit cards so take a couple of recent bills with your solo card or ring your local store to check.0
