  • Thanks for all the replies. Its all sorted now. It turns out I aftually have a digital shower and whilst the on/off buttons are electrical, the shower itself is not and does actually run from the combi boiler. This was evidenced when I turned the hot tap on in the bathroom and the flow in my shower reduced. I rang Aqualisa themselves and it was just that a setting needed to be changed on the black box from combi boiler to normal HP. We've since changed this setting and hooray my shower is back to being high powered. Very pleased that I'm running it from the boiler too and not paying more money for an electrical shower

So what is the point of the Aqualisa? Does it "pump"?

How do you adjust the temperature?

I don't know if it pumps or not. I was told you cant have a pump with a combi boiler, although it does have a black box under my bath that has something to do with it. There are 2 showers (one is fixed to the wall and is a rainfall shower and the other is an adjustable head.) So the digital thing on the wall allows me to switch between showers and also adjusts the temperature by turning the dial left and right.

hope thats what you meant. Sorry, I don't know anything about this whatsoever

I see, you have one of these "digital mixer showers"

The black box is the mixer, and you control it using a wall unit, which is probably connected by a low voltage cable or wirelessly and you have to change the battery.

It's very good for reducing visible plumbing connections, and is particularly good for ceiling mounted Monsoon showers, but in that case you would put the black box in the ceiling.
