Polaroid Radio has FM and DAB Mode.
As I listen to 5Live most I tried to download DAB Programmes but only Absolute Radio seems to download.
As I live in a very good reception area I cannot understand what is wrong.

What do you mean by 'download'? Are you trying to get the same programmes as you can get on the DAB by going to the stations' website, and 'downloading' from there?0

Sorry I mean presetting programmes.0

Do you mean tuning DAB stations into your radio?
Just follow the guide of your radio for tuning. Make sure the antenna is fully extended when tuning and then your radio will "download" all the radio stations in range.
It may be that you are in a location where you wont receive all the stations.
NB: Only finding Absolute Radio suggests to me that you are not doing something correct as Absolute Radio would be the first station alphabetically and there should be more if you navigate?0 -
I have a manual and will read it again.0

Manual mightn't explain it very clearly, and I might not either, but I'll give it a go.
DAB is different from FM. It's transmitted with lots of channels packaged together - this is called an 'Ensemble'. There are some different Ensembles transmitted and if you're in poor reception you mightn't get a lot of them. I'm in NI where it's pretty simple - something like a BBC National, Commercial National, and I think a Local one. Guess where you'll find 5 Live? You might be in the wrong Ensemble so look for that in your manual or look for how to find a list. If you find out how to do that you might not need to do the 'preset' thing like on old radios. No downloading happening here!0 -
Thank you for your help!
I live in Lancashire and in a very good reception ares.
I do not know how but lots of programmes are now on DAB including 5LIVE.
I must have done something right at last!0 -
I suspect that you have rescanned your radio which has downloaded all the stations it can receive from each multiplex. If you then "tune" through you can select and save to a preset, usually by selecting station then holding down the preset number you wish to use for several seconds until it bleeps. Alternatively check you manual.
Check this site for stations available in northwest on dab

To be fair some of the manuals are very poor, the one for my car DAB radio is almost totally incomprehensible, I managed somehow to get 5Live on it and as that's the only station I generally listen to I stick with it and hope for the best.0

Take the radio outside, tune it, bring it indoors and then move it about until it works.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
