Help - Office 2010 and Vista?

Hi All,

I'm doing an ITQ Office 2010 course and my notebook with Win 7 and O2010 was stolen yesterday evening .

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with Vista Home and O2007. I've contacted my tutor, but in the meantime, I wondered if anyone had any advice on whether just updating Office 2010 would provide a similar environment, or whether I need to upgrade operating system and Office. I can get a free college Office copy, but Win7 may be problematic. I need to replace my notebook, but all new tablets seem to have Win8 & O2013 and I take my time on such purchases.

Thanks
