Do you have multiroom? If so you'll get a letter in a few days warning of breach of contract as they rely on polling the box ro check you're not e.g. using the other box at your mate's house. If no multiroom, pgilc1's correct I think.

It is a condition of contract that you keep phone line connected for 12 months. You can make a gizmo that fools the Sky check signal into thinking you have phone attached.

Why do you want to disconnect phone anyway?

Yep, we had a letter through advising us to re-connect the telephone line. We'd disconnected it when we went on holiday for a couple of months. This was 3 years after we first got Sky. They don't disconnect the service immediately, looks like they send a letter about a month after the disconnection and then a month letter with a second warning. We had received the 2nd letter by the time we got back home and re-connected the line.

Why are you disconnecting? Is it because you're worried about unauthorized use? If so you can set a PIN to prevent usage of certain features/programmes.

  • We've been using Sky+ for nearly 2 years without a phone line and we've never had a letter. We even had the engineer out to fix a problem and it wasn't even mentioned then.

  • I don't recall the OP mentioning multiroom in their query either.
