Buying & selling a car in the same week- Help please
Hi guys,
I am hoping you can help I bought a car with the aim to collect it Tuesday. I was expecting mine to be sold this weekend but the buyer changed their mind. I am now worried about having two cars. the car I am picking up is taxed and insured, I assume I will just need to go straight to the post office / home and pay for tax after collection and call my insurers and I'm good to go?
What do I do about my current car? I believe I can't SORN it as I only have on road parking? How difficult is it to insure both? I hope I will only have it for a few more days.
Also - will this make a difference considering I paid and did the paperwork for it 8 days ago (they offered to keep it for me until mine was due to go this weekend)
Sorry If i'm being a bit silly here but this is the first time I've had this situation. :undecided
Many thanks
Jess

You'll be fine. You do need to insure them both if they're both on the road - and your existing insurer will probably add the second car for a week or two for free or very low cost.0

Worst case scenario you can try webuyanycar their prices aren't as bad as folk make out (but obviously not top dollar).0

Vehicle tax rules have changed and you will need to tax your new car before you drive it away.Buying a vehicle
From 1 October, when you buy a vehicle, the vehicle tax will no longer be transferred with the vehicle. You will need to get new vehicle tax before you can use the vehicle.
You can tax the vehicle using the New Keeper Supplement (V5C/2) part of the vehicle registration certificate (V5C) online or by using our automated phone service - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 0300 123 4321.
Alternatively, you may wish to visit a Post Office® branch.

Have used WBAC.
Pretty much offer you trade value initially.
Many are shocked at the true trade value of their car.
And think the trade in value is actually what it is worth.
They are also less than realistic about the actual condition.
WBAC start low and hope you bite.
The final result is usually midway between the offer online and the first one.
But you will get the car sold that day.
Make an appointment don't just turn up at an office.
As then they are under pressure to meet targets based on number of appointments made and number of cars bought.0
