Garden Log Cabin - BillyOh

Hi all. I'm busying a house (hoping to pick up the keys on Tuesday, fingers crossed). One of the first things I want to do is buy a log cabin for the garden. This will act as a storage and living space so I want to buy the right one!
I've been looking at those made by a company called BillyOh. They look good but I would want to see one installed in the flesh before buying one. Here lies my problem. I can't seem to find any bricks and mortar companies selling these that have some kind of showroom.
Has anyone had experience of this company? What are their products like and has anyone found a physical garden centre of similar company who has some of the on show?
Thanks.

As long as you realise that unless these softwood pine log cabins are pressure treated (never found one that was) they will start to rot after 7 years or so. The timber they are made of is not durable and will not stand up to the British climate. Brushing on a preservative stain will not prevent them from rotting.
The companies that make these cabins could pressure treat them but it would add to the cost. If you buy a pine window from a large company 95% of them will be pressure treated as this is the only way to make them last. The 5% that don't pressure treat them won't give you a warranty of more than 5 years..
Ask yourself a question: If the companies making/selling these are confident their products will last then do they give at least a 10yr warranty?..
My advice is ,as long as you realise they are not a long term solution to the porblem of a lack of space then buy one. If you need a long term solution look elsewhere ie aluminiumUpvc clad etc.Upvc doesn't look nice but at least it will last longer than a pine cabin.0 -
Thank you for that. I didn't know they were prone to rotting. Dine some go ogling and found this site to have 10 year anti rot guarantees and options for pressure treatments - http://www.tuin.co.uk/Perlund-Log-Cabin-3x3m.html Guess I'll have to do a little more research0

PS: Don't take any notice if they say "We can't pressure treat the timbers because in pressure treating the timbers it can make the boards swell up and they won't interlock when erecting the cabin". This is complete rubbish because we can make a softwood window and before we put it together we can have it pressure treated and when it comes back from being treated all the window pieces still fit together so it shoudl not be used as an excuse not to pressure treat the cabin timbers.0 -
