Hi I have noticed in my bathroom when I clean up that there are these white flakes under the radiator this morning i got down on my knees and had a look at the bottom of the radiator and it is all rusted and bubbled paint. It was put in 9 months ago when I had the bathroom done on a Disabled Facilities Grant It shouldn't rust that quickly should it or my be the person who put it in didn't use Inhibitor.
Thank you
Thank you

No radiator should rust that quick, was it brand new or a re used one? Even without inhibitor it wouldn't have rusted by now but I'd get a new one in before it rusts a hole through0

Bathroom radiators normally rust when they are placed next to the toilet in a mainly male occupied house, I will leave the reason up to your imagination.0

Yes the toilet is right next to it There are two males in the house and I work away from home. So spray of wee rusts the radiator.0 -
Have you considered condensation? This can occur in bathrooms, it condenses on the cold radiator, for it is not always warm, and runs to the bottom of the radiator. Hence rust occurs, particularly if the finish has been damaged or the radiator is poor quality.
Is it a BS Kitemarked, reputable brand, of radiator? Or is it something knocked up in a garden shed in Mumbai?0 -
No radiator brand ever covers surface finish. Mild steel with a thin coat of paint in a steamy bathroom will eventually corrode
Stainless steel or aluminium is the only way to go for long term durabilityHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0
