I have a back up of my Operating System (Win 8.1) on Flash drive but not my data !
Is it acceptable for me to add my data in a separate folder on the same drive or will this affect the boot sequence and cause me problems if I ever need to rebuild my laptop ?

How did you back up the OS?
I would have backed up the data first, and would rely on the maker's install disc for the OS.....0
