in Credit cards
Hello all,
Can someone help me in this matter please. I have got Lloyds Clasic Credit Card with maximum 56 days interest-free period. I have been using this card for some time now and always paid off my balance in full before the payment date.
On the 6th of October I bought a flight tickets for over one thousand pounds. A few days later I checked my online account and noticed that the payment due for this purchase is 20th October.
Why did the bank reduce my interest-free period to 14 days?
Can someone help me to understand this?
Thank you

When was your statement date?
Are you sure the payment due date doesn't refer to your last statement?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
When was the statement date, I'm guessing very shortly after the 6th?0

The payment due date is for statemented items (items that appear on a statement) not individual purchases.
Are you saying that the purchase appears on a statement produced between the 6th and 12th October, i.e. Your October statement.MFiT-T3 #149: {Q4/14} (£46,447)-->(£0) ~ +£46,447=100%

The last payment was due on 19th September and I paid it off on 15th September.0 -
Some CC companies have cut the interest free period - whether yours is one of them - pass
If it is they should have told you, either by letter or on a statement - maybe an e-mail0 -

If the £1000 is not even on a statement yet I don't see how a payment can be due on 20 October
I suspect you are misreading or misunderstanding something0 -
The interest-free period is "up-to" 56 days. This includes fourteen. Just bad timing on your part, unfortunately. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Even if you never get a paper statement, an online statement will be produced just once each month. This tells you what you have to pay and when you need to pay it. You must learn to distinguish between "recent transactions" and statemented transactions. You don't need to pay the recent ones until they've appeared on a statement.0 -
