Got bid from Europe when my settings are UK only

I only post in UK and my settings are no overseas buyers.
Somehow a bidder from Euorpe has won a bid.
He has good positive feedback - few in the last 3 months and mostly over 6 months.
I am thinking that I should try posting overseas otherwise I will never have the courage to do so! The other option is to do a mutual cancellation but that even is doing my head in - how to avoid a defect etc etc.
Looking online the postage will be £8.05 (1kg parcel). Should I be sending it tracked? The item is only £5. Is there anything else I should be considering before I send out the invoice?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Yes, the address is Europe. No, I haven't enrolled into the global shipping programme.0

As for tracking, if it wasn't going tracked in the UK then there is no need to do it for Europe. Have you actually blocked overseas buyers or just not offered to post there?0

selling and psoting to mainland Europe really isn't a problem. In more than 10 years I must have done dozens, never lost one yet.
However I'm intrigued as to what weighs a kilo and only costs a fiver! The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

I've got a great deal do stock that weighs a kg and sells for around £5. I tend to restrict my worldwide sales to slightly more expensive items, but would list with European prices on a £5 sale.

If it helps, I got automatically enrolled by eBay into some sort of overseas selling programme some months back. They sent me an e-mail saying so and that I didn’t need to do anything.
Then someone from France contacted me wanting to buy something, but could I do the postage any cheaper than what eBay were quoting. I had no idea what eBay were quoting to foreign buyers for postage, but it turned out that I could do it for half the cost.
When he did buy it, I couldn’t amend the invoice to quote the postage with eBay, saying something about they pay a third party to deliver. When I checked my Paypal account, I had been paid the cost of the item plus the UK delivery charge and the rest of the money that the buyer had been quoted by eBay for postage had gone to a third party.
When I checked the address that came with the Paypal confirmation, it was a UK address. So it looks like when someone from overseas buys your item, you post to the UK address and eBay take over the international shipping from there on.0 -
You're probably been enrolled in the Global Shipping Programme, they're doing it automatically unless you say you don't want to be in it.

Don't know anything about this - better check my messages from ebay and read up on this global shipping prog. I am only a private seller just downsizing. Don't need any complications!0 -
To stop Global Shipping Programme
My eBay>Account>Site Preferences>Postage and packaging preferences>Show>Offer the Global Shipping Programme set to OFF0
