That I don't know, and not suprisingly the bank wont tell me anything. Nor will Vodafone who are still investigating things on their side. That's what makes me think whoever it was had a lot more details about me than I stupidly gave them... can only have come from my transaction in the Vodafone store. The manager in the store was very good with me the following day when I went in to try and sort out what had happened with my account, he got the guy he trusted the most in the store to sort out all the technicalities... although that kind of indicated that he maybe didnt trust the rest of them (or maybe I am reading to much into that).

Vodafone employees still wouldn't have the the answers to your bank security questions.

I also think you are reading too much into the fact that the manager got one of his "most trusted" employees to deal with you.

I know. That's what I find strange about the bank bit too. They told me they had called and spoken to me. I know I didnt as my phone number had been suspended. All very odd.

And yeah, I reckon I'm reading to much into the staff part too.

Anyway... all done. Just filled in the form (no lies just the truth about what happened), scanned it for my records, and it's all sealed in the envelope ready to go back.

Thanks to all for your words of advice, and hopefully this will be the end of it. I like to think I wont be so stupid again, and will certainly make sure I'm more private when providing any kind of info about myself in a store.

I know this is an old post, but I hate to leave a story unfinished.

This was actually a case of a very organised gang, who unfortunately for me decided to break from their normal activity and try and go a little bit further than they normally would on me.

Probably cant say too much as the case is still open with the police, who have arrested 6 people for committing fraud. This goes well beyond what they did to me and involves Carphone Warehouse central sales office and a number of Vodafone shops in the South East.

Hope they get the punishment they deserve.
