Hot water from faucet smells and cloudy.

When i turn on the hot water for the first time after several hours of non-use, the first of the hot water smells of chemicals and is cloudy. It then clears after 10 seconds of running but I am not sure if the smell goes.

I have recently spent over 700 on my boiler changing various parts to get it going again, so I no longer have money for a plumber to come and 'look at it' for me.

Any ideas?

When water is heated and calcium is present this can happen. Nothing to worry about

Thanks, I thought it might be some sort of bidet type appliance in the bathroom!

Sorry I use the word faucet. I am English and based in London.

Faucet just means tap.

It's a new one on me I have to admit! I wonder what other odd terms people use to describe everyday items?
