WTC & CTC overpayment

My partner and I have each received the same letter today dated 29th September 2014 saying the following:-
NOTICE TO PAY Section 29 (3) of Tax Credit Acts 2002
We have sent you a notice showing an overpayment of tax credits for the period ending 22/06/2013
The total amount of Working Tax Credit overpaid to you is £264.49
The total amount of Child Tax Credit overpaid to you is £368.49
You have three months from the date you received your award notice to tell us if you think an HM Revenue & Customs error caused this overpayment.
Information on how to pay is shown on the back of this form. You may be able to spread your repayments over a longer period. To discuss this please phone the Payment Helpline on 0845 302 1429. Please have your bank details, sort code and account number ready when you phone us.
end.
I am 100% certain that this is the first letter about this. No other letter about this was received by me for whatever reason.

We are very hard up right now, many debts that we cant afford to pay back. It is an old claim I have been on JSA since and started on new claim so it is not being taken from my new claim.
We cant even afford to ring up that 0345 TC number. So I have wrote a letter to them asking for a written explanation for the overpayment then I can see about appealing it.
What will happen if I do not pay on time? Will it just be like all the other creditors chasing me and threatening me every single day?
Can I request it be taken off slowly from my current claim? Will there be extra charges for non payment on time?

I hear it will take a few weeks before HMRC starts taking other enforcement action.
What will this mean?0 -
Can you get an appointment at CAB? They will usually ring through for you. I wouldn't do it by letter, it could take weeks to get a response.0

lining up for ages, then told no more appointment

do you have a local tax office?
if you do, you can use their phones to call

Court action can be taken if you do not pay or they can take it back through other benefits or wages.
If you have an overpayment you don't need to pay it all back at the time. The letter should mention paying over 12 months.
I would like this option but cant afford to ring them, so if I do nothing will this option be automatic?
what is the harm in court action then getting to the option I wanted? my credit file is already ruined for the next 6 years so nothing to lose there.0 -

Im telling the truth we can not afford to call that number, and no friends or family with phone we can use.
so will just wait and see what happens.0 -
If I want to include a TC overpayment in my DRO does it matter if court recovery has already started? I am trying to get everything ready to apply for my DRO but taking a bit of time.
Does it matter of it takes a bit longer is there any hurry?0
