Question regarding Postage

I was wondering if someone could help me with 2 questions:

1. I am selling some magazines at the moment and have not specified a postage charge as I have not yet weighed the item. What happens if someone buys my item without me telling them how much the postage is....how do I get the payment for it???

2. Someone had asked about combined postage costs - when they pay me for the item how do I reduce the postage costs for said items?

Sorry if this is very trivial I am really new to all this and I know there are a lot of people here that can help me

Thanks a lot

    Hi,

You can get a rough idea of how much the postage will cost either by weighing on your kitchen scales and checking on the royal mail website the weight against the cost.... or check what other people are charging for postage for the same sort of thing! - and ask how much they would charge for a few of them in a combined parcel (obviously posing as a customer!!)

You can send an invoice at the end of the auction with postage costs but I would try to add them to your listing so people know how much they are paying - it may detract a few bidders if it isn't stated.

ask roughly how many they are thinking of buying and again work out the postage with the methods I told you above, remember to allow for packaging costs.

    Good Luck :D

  • Thanks for that - I know it sounds pretty obvious - but to me its all new and I don't want to get ripped off with postage charges nor do I want to sell something and then all of a sudden hit them with a hefty postal charge!!!

I'm sure I will be back to ask a lot more questions :P

    Thanks again
