  • You're welcome. I never used to keep such an eye on meter readings at all but since discovering this forum I've become quite the fanatic! We had to get a new heating system installed when we moved in as the previous owner had left a very expensive electric system. So lots of calculations involved!
    Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
    Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!

    Plan for the higher estimates here of £100-£120 for gas and elec

    They are on the high side but every property is different. And every occupant needs different requirements. I don't think it will be above £120.

    We're 3 bed semi built in 1950s cavity wall, loft done, combi boiler, 3 adults, 1 child - there's always someone in house.

    Yearly
    Contents and buildings - £250

    6 monthly
    Water rates - £210

    Quarterly bills
    Electric - summer £125 winter £200
    Gas - summer £50 winter £175 ( have central heating cut in at 18c and Gas for cooking) before the combi out heating was on 2 hrs in the morning and 2 hrs in evening the only time we would overload it was if done pile of washing up, washing machine which tended to be a weekend.
