First letter from G24 (CONTRACTUAL PARKING CHARGE NOTICE)

Hi guys
Thanks for any advice in advance
Received a letter from G24 saying I parked my car overnight on a carpark they "manage" even though the shop on the retail park is closed between the hours parked and I don't think the signs were well lit (not making excuses just sharing the mitigating circumstances)
I have to pay 100 pounds within the next 28 days or they will pursue legal action.
Any advice for me going forward? Tried to read a few threads but seeing mixed messages.
The time parked claims I was there for 474 minutes and the first 60 are free. So they are charging £14.49 per hour which I think is scandalous.
Thanks again if anyone can help!

No mixed messages. All is clear in the NEWBIES thread.0

Please note that G24 Ltd left the BPA to join the rival Independent Parking Committee (IPC) with effect from 1st October.
The date of your parking "incident" will be important in determining the process for your case - i.e. Pre-1st October = BPA / POPLA or 1st October onwards = IPC / IAS.
It would make things really interesting if your "overnight" parking happened on the night of 30th September / 1st October.;)0 -
@OP - it is extremely important you get photographs of the signage at this car park. If you're going to be dealing with an IPC/IAS scenario, the wording on the signage has significant importance.
Go get them asap. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

The alleged incident occured on Saturday 27th September and ran through to Sunday 28th. So do I follow the newbies thread through word for word?0

So you're now dealing with them as a (then) BPA member and will eventually be putting in your 2nd stage appeal to POPLA, not the IPC IAS.
Presume you have received a Notice to Keeper (NtK), with ANPR photos of your car and its VRM plate? If so, use the initial appeal as per the NEWBIES FAQ sticky post #1. Do not 'mess about' with it (by trying to 'tell your own story' in it) and never indicate anywhere the identity of the driver
Once you've sent that off you need to get on with reading up (via post #3) 'How to win at POPLA', in readiness for the next stage of your 'journey'.

Yep and you don't need to worry about photos of signs either - so easy to beat this bunch at POPLA and the date of your incident is when they were in the BPA.The alleged incident occured on Saturday 27th September and ran through to Sunday 28th. So do I follow the newbies thread through word for word?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Given G24 have NEVER gone to court I call them out as LIARS. They know they are anyway and they get quite grumpy when I tell them via email and phone."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0
