Argos, Default but account still open

The misses has just created an account with check my file.

On there it shows that argos defaulted her account this year because a payment was late, which meant interest and late payment charges put her over her limit.

She got straight in touch with them and has been paying it since on time every month and is now actually 50% paid off.

Argos also passed it to a DC, and have been receiving letters from both argos and their dc monthly with statements. I find it weird that argos done this and haven't closed her account and are now pushing to get her to spend again now she is in the clear.

For me personally I don't think the default on her account should stand if they haven't closed the account.

Would I be right? Thanks

Argos can run their customers accounts as they think fit. The default has no connection to whether an account is open or closed. The purpose of the default is to advise others as to how the account has been conducted.
