Shall I chuck tax reminder for the car I sold?
Options
Sold my car a few months back
Had slip back from the dvla showing change of ownership
Just got Tax reminder for my old car?
It says tell them if I'm no longer the owner and they send me credit for the tax left on it
I don't want the tax it was part of the deal, but I also don't want them to think I still have it
I figure they just not got up to date yet

After some months don't rely on them "just not up to date yet"
Return the form with a photocopy of their Change of Ownership slip and keep a copy of that communication0 -

...........
Can you give more detail on this 'slip' please as I've never had one, for the seller it's usually a letter. The 'slip' is the bit of the V5C that the buyer gets off the seller to cover him until the new V5C is sent out.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

When ever you send off your form for change of keeper(its not a change of ownership v5c only says who the keeper is) the dvla will eventually send you a confirmation of change of keeper.0 -

On reflection it might have been a slip from the new owner - can't recall - chucked it
I won't be talking any responsibility for my old car and I assume new owner is the person who benefits from it being registered in their own name since they paid form good money for it
I considered it the same as 'the receipt' i gave him for the money he gave me
I don't give a toss whether anyone knows he gave me the money, only he does
Its not like I'm going to pay his tax lol
I don't get it - i assume dvla just want me to fill that out if i want the tax back but i dont - think I'll just chuck itWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
Did you send the completed V5C to the DVLA when you sold the car, and did you receive their acknowledgement letter that you were no longer the registered keeper?
If not, you may still be shown as the registered keeper and why the DVLA sent you the form.0 -

With this general approach and attitude I'm wondering why you asked, unless you half-realise the grief you could cause yourself by not doing things properly. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

When did you sell it? after the 1st October you can not transfer the tax disc. Or did the transfer at the DVLA occur after the 1st Oct ?
Just a thought.0 -
