Eon 1 year fix V10 tariff

Options
I ve just had a look at ukpower.co.uk today and was very surprised to see Eon at the top of the table in front of Extra Energy,First Utility etc with excellent rates, so I m ditching one German supplier, (Npower ) for another.
Maybe its got something to do with the top boss of EDF s comments (Henri Proglio ) about the two big German energy giants future by saying "one is more or less dead and the other in serious trouble " with rumours of an alliance between the two to stay in business.

Have a look at single fuel suppliers. I'm sure you could do better than anything Eon can offer.

Shame you missed out on V9 because that was good value for electricity in some areas (still not the cheapest, but close), but they soon closed that as they obviously couldn't carry on giving electricity away at those prices, not with their overheads.
(I think they made a mistake, hence why they closed it early and replaced it with V1o)

I use Eon and was lucky enough to get their v9 deal before they scrapped it so take a close look at their new v10 deal and compare prices.
Also I have found Eon to be reliable in that when they set a monthly direct debit figure they stick to it, unlike certain other companies mentioned on this forum.
The best way is to manage your account online and get the extra discount and shopping points rewards as well. You can also manage your DD payments in your account section and the website seems to work very well for all this.
And they send an instant email to confirm things when you have made any changes to your account.

This shows how individual usage affects the tables, they are 10th on the list for me. They are only competitive with a very low gas consumption.

They are not identical for electricity in Southern region.

Or no gas use which applies for many.
  • The V10 tariff ends today so I ve switched from one struggling German supplier to another, saved quite a lot and also used the Cheap energy club for a £30 cashback. Quidco said cashback was nt available on this supplier but somehow the Cheap energy Club manages to provide one, which is baffling.
When the head of EDF, Henri Proglio made his statement last week that "one German supplier is almost dead " did he refer to Npower or Eon as the dying one ? any ideas anyone ?

Each cashback provider has to negotiate its own deal with the retailer. Quidco doesn't have one with E.On at the moment, so no cashback. Either E.On isn't interested with working with them or Money Supermarket, which runs Cheap Energy Club, has exclusivity over cashback with E.On for now.

Proglio was referring to Npower owner RWE. It posted its first annual net loss in 60 years. E.On has suffered a drop in profits, but is in a better position by comparison.
