I know from reading this forum and having some credit issues that technically 'scores' don't mean anything, but after being 3/5 on Noddle for SO long, last month I was 4/5 and this month I am 5/5

Although I *know* it doesn't mean anything, it still pleased me :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Although it "doesn't" mean anything...I know what you mean!

It shows you have made steps in the right direction!

Thank you! I have making steps in the right direction for SO long, but never seemed reflected in Noddle. Couldn't believe me eyes when it had gone up! :o

    It's the little things...

I'm desperate for the day I'm 3/5 :rotfl: I'm at 1/5 now. How long did it take you to go from 3 to 5 and what did you use to do it? I have one cc paying in full and one phone on experian, closed/settled Internet on equifax as well but a settled default from last year on top of those :(

I went from 1/5 to 3/5 one month, then without making any changes at all, went back down from 3/5 to 1/5, for no reason.

What a crock of rubbish - absolute con - don't pay ANY attention.

Mine flicks between 4 and 5 with little to no changes on my account, so I'm not sure how they determine between the two. I'm at 5 this month, but I can bet I won't be next month, and I've done nothing differently!

Believe me folks, I know it doesn't mean anything really, but it's just seeing those numbers! Made me smile.

It's been 3/5 for as long as I can remember - maybe 2 years or so?

I have a Next account that I pay off fully monthly.
An RBS CC that I pay off fully monthly.

And the usual mobile phone/current accounts.

Experian have given a 999 (max) score to people on here with an active default against their name. Well done for managing your finances but the scores are meaningless, they might give you 4/5 next month and try and sell you an "improvement" tool

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

My Noddle report has been 5/5 since they started. Then last month suddenly went to 4/5. Looked through the report and nothing had changed since the previous month.

They are currently trying to flog something called Noddle Improve at £20 pa so they are motivated to downgrade their scoring because there's not much room to "improve" on a score of 5/5.

I've just put it down to a marketing ploy and otherwise ignored their score. I suppose one must expect such behaviour from a free service; particularly in the financial services sector.

  • I was at 3/5 for so long, the only thing I could see was that I wasn't listed as being on the electoral roll with noddle even though I was. I registered in the electoral roll in January of this year. I checked noddle a few months later and it wasn't showing. I raised a dispute and forwarded them a copy of the letter I received from the electoral office confirming registration.
Noddle rejected this saying it couldn't be accepted as it was dated more than three months ago.
I wasn't overly bothered as I don't needed to apply for any credit anytime soon, it was just annoying that the full facts weren't listed.
Every month my new noddle report was generated, every month I had a score of 3/5, and every month the file was more or less perfect apart from the electoral roll issue.
Then I received Octobers report. 5/5!!!! Woo hoo. They finally had me listed as registered on the electoral roll, but only since August 2014, not January when I actually registered.
But I agree with the previous poster, the boundaries between the levels seem rather arbitrary, and the smallest thing can make you rise or drop a grade. And the marketing thing - what good would people with perfect files be to a CRA, they couldn't sell you anything
