Funnily enough i was chatting to a family member today and they said they had bought a fresh bakery baked loaf from Tesco but when they got it home and opened it straight away it had mould on it.
I asked what the date was on it and they said it was in date till the next day. And i said i'd heard about the dates being fiddled before from someone.0 -
That's terrible! In the fridge department today i came across a pasty which was dated the 19/07/07. Couldn't believe it and gave it to a member of staff, didn't want to cause a fuss. Not in the mood to moan today as Tescos was mad, packed to the brim.Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. ~ Mother Teresa0

I used to work in a place that sold baguettes. I won't name it, but it's not Tesco.
These baguettes were advertised as being fresh and kept on sale for only one day before they were chucked.
In reality we were told to change the sell-by date each day so it looked like it had only just been put out. Because of this there would have been no way of knowing how many days a baguette had been there for. Actually there was, the ham apparently went a brown color when it was time to take it off.
I didn't usually do the baguettes but if I did I put the new label on top of the old one with the previous date visible to anyone that looked closely enough. :rolleyes:0 -
I used to work in a store where the "fresh" eggs were repackaged into boxes with a different date. The mouldy cheese had the bad bits cut off and grated into bags (still wont buy grated cheese).
It was one of Britains leading supermarkets but I mention no name.:rolleyes:Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -
