Problems getting into another forum

Am trying to get into another Forum and have been having problems for the last day or so.

I think it must be down to the Forum concerned and nothing to do with me in any way and therefore just wait for them to sort it out.

Just checking though - in case problem is from my end. The text that comes up when I try is:

*******************

SQL ERROR (mysq14)
Table 'p' is marked as crashed and should be repaired (1194)
An SQL error occurred while fetching this page
*****************************

Does that ring any bells to anyone? Is this just a case of waiting for this Forum to sort their problem out, or is it something to do with me?

I notice no new posts on this Forum for last couple of days, which also makes me think its down to that Forum and not me.

Database problem at their end, I expect they'll need to fix the problem before you'll be able to get in again. Is there any way of contacting the forum owner without going into the site, just in case they haven't noticed?

    Thank goodness not me then.

I'll have a go at trying to contact them.

EDIT: doesn't seem to be a way really. Just got to keep fingers crossed they have got people "on duty" and they realise and sort it out. You'd think there would be some sort of "contact us" link or something.
  • you can check with a proxy to make sure it's them - try a few proxies that rules you out

Not quite sure what you mean? Don't know what proxies are?

How would I go about that?

Its almost definitely an error with the database that the forum sits on. Everyone will be getting the same error.

Yep the site in question have now had this problem for a few days. It seems to be a recurring problem but normally only for a day, never this long before

I hope somebody has got a backup of their databases

    ETA

This could be part of the problem (taken from their web hosts site)

During the next seven days additional web servers are being installed into the server farm, so we can offer later versions of PHP to those that need it. The once this has been completed customers will be able to migrate to the new servers if they wish.
