Nero 7 has been rebranded a few times - the current version is called 'Nero 7 Premium Reloaded' according to the makers website http://www.nero.com/eng/index.html.
Once you get a copy of Nero I would download the latest build from the Nero website to ensure best functionality with Vista and use it to upgrade your installation - http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/nero7-up.php
The Nero website offers a discount for upgraders from version 6 - http://www.nero.com//eng/Upgrade_InfoPage.php.
Be aware that there is also a Nero 7 Essentials program this is a cut down version of Nero that is normally bundled with DVD burners.0 -
I think Ultra is the European version, Premium, the American version. I think that Premium may have the addition of something called LabelFlash.
I think that you get LightScribe with the Ultra Edition anyway.
My advice would be slightly different from Saver 33.
I would advise you to download and evaluate the free demo of Nero 7 from the website in the first instance; http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/nero7-demo.php
Once you are happy with it, you can purchase the licence in the form of the CD or purchase direct from website. You won't need to install the CD. Just use the licence code.
Depending on the CD you buy, you may experience reduced functionality.0 -
The full version of Nero has loads of add-ons which you will probably never use. For simply burning files to DVD, all you need is Nero 7 Essentials Suite 3. Suite 3 supports DVD video - OK, potentially naughty, but also potentially useful. I got an OEM disc for just £11.16 from Great Bridge Software back in January. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Wouldn't he still have the problem of Vista compatibility?
As I wrote before, download the Demo and then purchase the flavour of Nero(eg Essentials Suite 3) you enjoy most and add the serial code when your demo runs out. Don't install the CD.0
