Rooting Android

I've just bought a Tesco Hudl2 and wish to strip it of all the Tesco branding & apps.
Although I'm good with Windows computers I've never touched an Android device before.
Is there an easy to follow, all you need to know guide to rooting Android, that doesn't assume your heads shaped like an egg & you wear a Star Trek uniform ?

Search for Nexus Root Toolkit. Don't let the name fool you - it can be used to root any Android device.0

As per Bod's post, install the Nexus toolkit, root the device, uninstall what you don't want, and then unroot again afterwards if you so wish.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
Kingo and towelroot fail on rooting, I tried Kingo and another person on another forum site confirms this as well as the towelroot failure.
If you try the Nexus toolkit, please let us know if it works.0 -
To the OP and anyone else, have you tried using a stylus with it and does it work OK ?
On mine it is very iffy, but fingers work OK, I have tried the standard rubber type tip and the mesh tip, but they need to be pushed down hard on to the screen to work. On the original Hudl they work absolutely fine.
If yours does the same then maybe they have changed the touch sense to have a greater area touched before operating - fat fingers ! or have done it for the kids use.0 -
Kingo and Towelroot generally only work on high end devices, but you can make Towelroot work by changing the modstrings and entering the code 1337 0 1 0 4 1Kingo and towelroot fail on rooting, I tried Kingo and another person on another forum site confirms this as well as the towelroot failure.

This will give root access until the device is rebooted, but that's all you need for uninstalling the crap.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car

Kingo does root Hudl 1.

Be aware that rooting usually voids your warranty and their are often inbuilt indicators to show that .0

It's early days but it seems no one has yet successfully rooted the Hudl2.
I've installed Nova launcher which seems to have removed all the Tesco branding even if only visually.0 -
Don't root it until warranty over.0
