Cheap Ferry trip to Amsterdam

It's my friends 21st on 20th May and he mentioned he and his girlfriend where planning to go to amsterdam for the weekend and he asked if me and my fiance wished to go with them.
I said I would see if I could find any decent prices but haven't had too much luck.
I have heard from friends (and seen in the past) cheap deals for a ferry trip/cruise, but cannot find any at all now.
We plan to go on either the 21st or the 28th May (weekends).
Could anybody please point me in the right direction.

Sorry, I new I stupidly forget something. I'm in Newcastle and I think they sail from North Shields.
Thanks for the replies by the way.0 -
dfds.co.uk do a good deal for about £40 to £60
although I highly recommend P &0 for a 10x more modern and comfortable ferry
dfds were good althought maybe bit too old fashioned and have crap sailing times pm whereas u get whole day with p &o which sail at 9pm
btw its dfds tht go frm north shields
p&o are hull0 -
By the time you've messed about on the ferry/trains/bus, wouldn't http://www.easyjet.com be just as cheap?
Plus you'd have more time away, rather than travelling!

Just got back tonight from Amsterdam using Easyjet via Stansted and it went like a dream, £22 return each for myself and the other half.Never seen Amsterdam so busy and we go twice a year.I love that city.vansboy wrote:By the time you've messed about on the ferry/trains/bus, wouldn't http://www.easyjet.com be just as cheap?

check out https://www.jet2.com for flights from Newcastle (or Leeds or Manchester) to Amsterdam. Pretty reasonable they are.
Overnight ferries from Newcastle or Hull are lots, though there are sometimes special weekend deals on their websites.0
