Driveway dispute

Makes me so glad I don't have a shared drive! Whoever thought of this needs lynching. You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:0

Thank you everyone for your advice. I have given serious thought in the past to a gate to access my drive, but to be honest, I already have fairly narrow access and posts either side would reduce this even more. Also, I doubt it would keep him out, as the entrance part of my drive has the hedge to his front garden alongside it and he can get through the gap between the front of his house and hedge. Although it would prevent workman with wheel barrows etc... getting in.....
It is something I may do next year when I change the drive, if I can think of a way of maintaining the current width as much as possible.
As long as (legally) he can't prevent me from changing my driveway I will be happy. When push comes to shove I will stand my ground, but would prefer to talk things out and try and be reasonable. With him though, I am realising that I have probably been 'too' reasonable, as I believed him about the damp in his home, but now I'm not so sure......
Just have to wait and see if he tries to encroach even further and then I will have a hissy fit for sure!

It does need sorting out, if only for the sake of future owners.
I am cursing past owner/s of my house for letting themselves get pushed around by a pushy little madam of a neighbour, whilst having to go through a lot of unanticipated work to "put matters right" (ie back to way they were before they let themselves get treated as a pushover by said little madam).
So do take pity on future owners and nip this in the bud right now. I'd love to put the clock back and have a word with whichever previous owner let themselves get walked over by her and say "Hello, I'm the owner that will be buying this house in 2013 and I'm not a walkover. Please stop the ***** in her tracks right now".0 -
Serious, sort it out asap.
Ask him when he intends to reinstate your bushes that he removed.
I would definitely add a gate ASAP + some chicken wire inside your property against his hedge, Doesn't need to be expensive, doesn't need to look good, it's serving a purpose. I would do it before the winter ... don't touch his house, don't touch his property, be careful that everything is fully contained on your own land - you won't look back, loss of a few inches of width or not, I promise!0
