Ryanair - Ticket change cost £70

The problem is, if someone takes an airline to court over these charges, the likely outcome will be a change in t&cs where there will be NO CHANGES ALLOWED.
Excellent point. From the airlines point of view, that solves the problem completely.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Funny how people can manage to remember to get their name right on their passport. Budget airlines need to keep costs down, not have to employ staff to deal with people who can't remember their own name.

Great comment Sooler, especially for 1am! Personally, I always double-check my friends 'real names' before making any booking.0

I have just booked a flight and made one mistake with a Jamie instead of a James for my minor.
Do you reckon Ryanair would charge for this on the day as the wording says that they could refuse boarding?
They must have this all the time with every Andy, Len, Ted, Charlie etc0 -

Hi Oliver,
Welcome to MSE!
It seems a grey area, some agents will let it go through, others will not.
Was it an expensive ticket? If so, would it be cheaper just to book a new one, just in case. If it was expensive, then I would be inclined to take a chance, and hope they are in a good mood?!
Let us know how you get on xGone ... or have I?0 -
Hi Oliver,
It may be the name is acceptable, In the past I`ve have had Dave on a ticket for David accepted at check in before. ( not Ryanair and several years ago.)
Nowadays I would not take the chance. I`d ring them asap and get it altered, we had a booking changed - see above. They changed the booking and confirmed by email. As it was not a different person travelling there was only a £7 charge. Not the £70 we expected.
If they say its OK get it in writing and take it with you when you travel.
Cheers,

Thanks for the replies.
I called this morning and they said it was ok to change it and it was done - They said they would re-send the email (although late afternoon and email not yet received).
Sounded ok and free although I declined the insurance, hotel, car-rental & kitchen sink so might have to go through it again.0 -
Does anyone have the ryanair telephone number for requesting a name change please?0

:rotfl:
well said - remembering your own name isn't exactly splitting the atom territory is it ?
If you can't remember your own name you probably shouldn't be out in society on your own :rolleyes:Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0
