Hi,
I am having an extension to the home and building out the kitchen, I'd like to pus some ceiling speakers and be able to connect to them though iphone/ipad etc but not sure of what I need, happy for the cables to run to some AMP in a cupboard.
I have read about D-link and such like? and connecting to something like an airport or similar?
Can somebody advise what I should buy please?
Thanks in advance

Assuming you want wireless playback of music you need (a) A source that accepts Airplay (b) an amplifier (c) some speaker and (d) wires to connect the lot together.
You can combined many of these together into a single unit or you can have them all as separates.
At one extreme is the likes of http://www.whathifi.com/news/systemline-builds-apples-airplay-active-ceiling-speakers-no-system-sound which is an all in one system so the amp has airplay built in and the amp is built into the speaker.
Alternatively you could buy just some normal in ceiling speakers and then an amp to put in a cupboard or such and then either get the amp with Airplay built in or one without it and but an airport express or similar add on device to give it the airplay.
If you go the fully separate route though and want good quality music then get get an amp with an optical input as the DAC in the Airport Express is poor.0
