Ipad Virus?

I have an Ipad (original or 1). Despite Ipad saying that an anti virus isn't necessary think I have a possible virus on it. I get an advert from world.showsnail.biz . It tells me that I have a chance to win £500 from Tesco. Just click "ok" to find out. A friend told me that when he clicked "ok" on the same advert he had to rebuild his ipad. I cannot get rid of this ad as it comes up every time I go into safari. Other sites come up but the ad is superimposed over them. Anyone with any ideas?

Make sure "Block Pop-ups" is ON.
Now click "Advanced".
Now click "Website Data".
Clear all website data.
Now you can leave "Settings" and launch Safari.
Find a website.
Exit Safari and go back to "Settings".
Scroll down and click "Safari".
Scroll down and set JavaScrip to ON.
Exit Settings.
BTW you do NOT have a virus. This is merely a persistent web page stuck in your Safari browser.0
