Hi Jem
If you have been told to remove gluten can you get some gluten free products on prescription? My son has coeliac disease and we can get some items such as GF flour mix and pasta on prescription. It might be worth asking as I know GF products are very expensive.
Good luck.Do what you can, with what you have where you are.0 -
i am following a sugar and yeast free diet which is not as bad, i use lots of herbs, and make a lovely chicken curry with coconut oil, coconut cream spices, onion, peppers and chicken, the coconut cream thickens it well. another one i make for a quick lunch is fry some king prawns finely sliced leek and finely sliced cabbage together in coconut oil, until the leeks caramelize slightly.
can you have eggs ? as that makes life much easier
i also have a baker friend who recommended i try a Rye sourdough loaf, which she makes, which is lovely and i think it would fit in your diet if you have any traditional bakers near you?best win yet - 10 night holiday to Australia

I think a lot of the suggestions on here are good, as you have found out a lot of free from food is expensive. Just wanted to say be careful before you go buying too many of these things, a lot of gluten free foods are NOT wheat free so if you have to avoid wheat altogether they are not always a good choice. Good luck with the diet, you will feel better quickly if you can stick to it.Thoughts to all. Mrs D.

If it is an actual qualified dietitian (as opposed to a nutritionist) he/she should be able to advise you on what foods you CAN eat as well as the ones you can't. I recommend asking them for recipe ideas, as this seems to be a very restrictive diet regime that they want you to follow.left the forum due to trolling/other nonsense

I have been told by my dietition to remove ALL dairy, gluten, wheat, suger and alcohol from my diet .
But been os I'm finding this very hard does anyone have any recipes I could try please as bread flour alone is £1.69
Thank you x
I don't know if anyone has said this, but if your dietician is really doing her job, then she should give you some added assistance.Ask her for recipes and ask her to point you towards some websites/recipe books that could help.
What she is asking from you is a huge change in diet,so she should be prepared to help you out,in order for you to achieve these changes.
It would be daunting for anyone to make these changes, even with assistance.
If she can't help you make the transition, then complain.0
