PCN from a PPC

Hi there, I have read with interest many of the threads and am just about to send off my 'appeal' to the PPC in order to get a POPLA number.
Just one query - they ask for £50 if paid within 14 days of the PCN issue date and then it steps up to £100. Once I go to POPLA and in the unlikely event that I lose, will the 'time clock' have been stopped. In other words will I be up for £100 as opposed to the £50 it is right now?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Naturally, I will keep the thread informed of my progress and outcome.
Regards.

No the full amount of £100 is supposedly 'due' if a person manages to lose at POPLA (but the decision isn't binding on the motorist anyway). Are you appealing early because it's a company car or a small PPC or one where I advise in the Newbies sticky thread not to wait for the NTK in the post? Or was it a postal PCN like ParkingEye or Smart/G24/Highview one?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi C-M,
No, this was a PCN which came in the post yesterday - I thought the sooner I get on with it the sooner I can get my POPLA reference number.

Yep that's fine - send the first appeal off and some PPCs just cancel when they see it anyway!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi everyone
Please bear with me as I'm a newbie to posting and the forums and need some help with my PCN
I don't dispute that there was a warning sign where I parked (in the bank car park) but as it was outside of their business hours, I wrongly (and naively) assumed that the signs were for during business hours only. So on returning to the car there was a PCN on the windscreen for £60.
From reading the threads it seems VCS will be sending me a ntk as they are now part of the IPC and therefore can get my details from the DVLA. 😣
So do you think I should try writing to the bank ( the landowner) and if no joy with them, try appealing the charge?
Not sure about my chances of appeal as the signage is clearly visible.0 -
1. You need a new thread of your own - one issue, one thread, saves confusion and a potential free-for-all.
2. In your new thread please give date of parking event (important given their switch to IPC).
3. You very urgently need to go and get photos of the signage at the car park - can't stress that point enough.
4. By all means complain to the bank - especially if you are one of their customers. Remember switching banks is very easy these days!
5. Read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky at the top of the forum index. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
