Number one son bought a 200 year old barn conversion in 2013 and had a full survey done. Nothing particular to report. He has since discovered 'woodworm' and damp. No expert (what I have been told) if you have furniture beetle (rather than something more serious) and damp, it seems you fix the damp, get nice and dry and the beetle fixes itself. You can expose yourself potentially to huge expense in order to fix any problem(s) so be careful. There's a lot of information on the 'net' and on here so do loads of research before you part with any cash.
