Santander lightning fast.

I live in Northern Ireland and im sure many similar to me face longer waiting times for mail compared to living in mainland UK. I know because i recently moved back after university.

Well yesterday morning i called up Santander to close an account. Nice and quick process, took no more than 2mins.

Then the next morning, no more than 24 hours after requesting closure, i received written confirmation that the account was closed with a zero balance. I for once am surprised at how fast this has been done. Well done Santander :)

Relating to 2012, but interesting reading nonetheless:

I don't think you wait longer than most people in the UK do for their mail just because you live in Northern Ireland.

I can say from my own experience when sending anything to a friend in Northern Ireland they usually get it the next working day after I've sent it.

However when they send something to me, it takes up to 3 working days to get to me.

I've also noticed that Royal Mail despite them saying they do, don't deliver mail everyday in our area. It seems to be every 2 to 3 days we get mail delivered.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.
  • matty - I find that Royal Mail and Santander both give a great service nowadays.

I find that hard to believe considering they would be blatantly breaking the law...

Find it as hard to believe as you want, this is what is happening. I've even sent myself a letter first class and it's arrived 1 week after being posted.

So either the post person is deliberately not delivering post or there's a problem at the local sorting office that the post office is lying about.

    Have you reported it?

No one in this village gets any post here on Tuesday's - any Tuesday.
    Been like this for years.
It seems on very rare occasions when a Tuesday post happens which we suspect is due to a special delivery being required locally so they HAVE to turn up - then the next day Wednesday is a guaranteed post free day.
