ISIS/Travel Insurance advice

We never usually book our holidays very far in advance, but in an effort to give us something to look forward to (!), early this summer I booked a two-week family holiday in Turkey next Easter.
Since then, we have seen the rise of ISIS. While rationally I know that the coastal holiday resorts are a long way from the border towns that are currently affected, a lot can happen in the next six months before we are due to go and it worries me.
Therefore I wondered if anyone had any experience of choosing a travel insurance policy that would provide cover if Turkey became more involved in the conflict?
Any advice or ideas appreciated! Many thanks.

If you have not already got a policy you will likely find that many exclude civil unrest so you will need to read the policies closely
If the FCO advise against travel then you should have no problem getting refund however if there is no advise and you decide you do not wish to travel insurance will not cover disinclination to travel

Sorry - I should have said I'm interested in a policy that would allow us to cancel if the fighting escalates, not just provided good cover if we still go.0

Insurers will cover you if FCO declares it unsafe to travel. No insurer will cover you for you deciding you dont want to go without the FCO declaration.0 -
you should have bought the insurance at the same time (or before) you booked the holiday, you need the policy to be in force from the date you part with money to the date you come back home. Policies tend to be worded such that they follow FCO advice, so if Turkey is OK to travel to now then you should be able to get insurance now. If the situation changes such that FCO advice becomes 'don't travel' then insurance will cover you.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

You don't NEED it to be in force then. It will likely cost the same and obviously give you more protection so it's logical to get them at the same time, but as long as you eventually get it before an event happens that makes you need to claim it will be fine.0
