Amazon Marketplace wont refund P&P

I recently ordered a product from Amazon marketplace and upon delivery I discovered the item was broken. I immediately contacted the seller and told them I wanted a full refund as the goods were not fit for purpose. They have refunded me the original cost which included the product and the postage and packaging to deliver it to me. They however refuse to refund me the cost I incurred delivery the product back to them.
It is my understanding that I am entitled to a refund of all costs including postage back to them. Amazon refuse to help me as this is not covered under their marketplace agreement of their A to Z Agreement. Am I right in my interpretation of my rights? If I am, what can I do next? The cost wasn't very much but I'm annoyed they think they can get away with it, so I'm pursuing this out of principle! Should I just give in?

I very rarely buy from Amazon market place; there seem to be just too many loopholes.0

I assume the Marketplace seller is a UK based business? If so then yes the Sale of Goods Act entitles you to all costs incurred, so they owe you the return postage costs.0

Same as eBay, your postal refund is from the seller, not from Amazon. YOu need to chase your seller for it.0 -
Thank you everyone, I have only contacted them by email so far, what is the next step? Should I send them a letter or is there refusal to pay the sign I should take this to the next step. And if so, what is that?0
