Question on registered childcare assistance

Hi guys... I am a single mum with 2 kids.. 14 & 2. I work full time and earn £24k. I am not entitled to any other benefits apart from child benefit.

My childcare arrangements is about to change. Until now a family member watched my youngest child whilst I worked. After Christmas I will need to find alternative child care as my relative is moving from my home town.

My question is... On my income as a single applicant would I be entitled to tax credit assistance with full time child care costs? I would only need childcare for my youngest daughter.

I have tried to call the helpline almost every day this last 2 weeks and never seem to get through... I get so far and enter all my automated responses.. To be told they are unable to take my call at that time. I thought I would check here to see if anyone was in a similar position and give me an idea.

I appreciate any assistance... Thanks!

If you earn £24,000 gross you would be entitled to approx' £68 per week without childcare although initially it would be based on previous years income.

    Phone 0345 300 3900 and request a claim pack.

Have income details for 13/14 tax year at hand.
Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.
