Barclays Bank Charge Refund Advice Needed

I'll try and keep as short as possible, i began a claim for bank charges back in 2012 during this period I was in financial hardship - the bank account I was claiming against had been closed with an outstanding amount which I have an agreement to pay with Barclays debt company.
Barclays responded to the with a very small offer so I took the claim to the FOS, the FOS recommended an increased amount by the time the second offer was agreed it was June 2013 I was under the impression from Barclays that the compensation had paid part of the debt from the bank account.
In June of this year I received a statement from the Barclays debt company still showing a large amount amount showing after a few telephone conversations later and told by Barclays complaint team it wasn't there issue I found the refund was never paid out and was lost!!
After taking my complaint back to the FOS Barclays have asked how not receiving the refund has impacted on me and my response was going to be not receiving the refund affected my credit file further but I'm not sure what else and what I can ask for or where I stand if I asked for a bigger refund, help!?

Did it? Would have the debt been paid off already if the refund was credited?I was under the impression from Barclays that the compensation had paid part of the debt from the bank account...
... my response was going to be not receiving the refund affected my credit file further
Also, if the debt was sold to another company, I don't think that paying it off makes any change to your credit history.0 -

Just answer it truthfully, the compensation from the last complaint is a done deal as the FOS have already ruled on that. This question is simply around what damage has been done by this failure and so what additional compensation may be due.
If you've not lost anything by their delay then its a simple inconvenience payment, probably £50-£100. If you've had further interest/ charges applied to the debt, had worsened credit rating and failed to receive credit/ had to pay higher interest rates as a consequence then you document this and be prepared to substantiate it with evidence0
