You'd ignore me for being a Catholic?

Ah, no. I think you'll find that "ignore" is used for idiots. That's not a religious distinction.

If you bothered reading what I wrote of the narrative regarding a UI you will see that there will not be provisions for Protestantism within it. As happened before when Britian illegally kept the black six, Protestants left in their droves from what is now known as the Republic. Most of those who chose to stay converted, a foolish bigoted minority refused but thankfully married Catholics and then made the switch. These options will again be available when Ireland is one once again. I have no problem at all with people practicing Protestantism in England, Wales or Scotland - Ireland is our country and we intend to see that it stays that way.

    The voice of derangement returns.

So, let's get this straight. Will protestantism be illegal in your new ireland? If so what penalties will we be subjected to? Fine, prison expulsion or death? How can you rationalise your objection to your neighbours with names like murphy, cassidy, gillespie who just happen to be prods, when you accept those called Pszoszka etc whose families have no connection with our land? You still havent told us what you're going to do with muslims and chinese.

Your views seem to be a lot more fascistic than any catholics I know. Are you one of these zealots who sees sinn fein as quisling sell outs? Are you a member of some party or just a right wing outlier a bit like that norwegian who shot up the island 'cause he didn't like foreigners or those jewish extremists who drive arabs off farms they've been on since the middle ages - " because it's our land"?

    All very illuminating.

If you bothered opening your eyes and waking up to the facts you'll see there will be no place for Religion in a future Ireland like the rest of the developed world.... People say they are this or that religion when really in this day and age it's just a label put on them by their parents... As I said before, Mass Attendance by self proclaimed Catholics is at an all time low as it is with most other religions. Nothing much catholic about those 80+% is there? The irony is that it's Islam that is on the rise but yet the "Christians" are still happier fighting amongst themselves to be proclaimed as the right type of Christians.... You are clearly one of the brainwashed followers of religion............... or possibly just a bigoted person using religion as a tool for conflict.......

Remember A staggering 65% of Northern Ireland's GDP is accounted for by public service expenditure. This compares with around 34% in the Republic of Ireland. that's a LOT of redundancies !!
The UK Treasury subsidises Northern Ireland to the tune of about £10Billion per year.... Money doesn't grow on trees !!

Yes, and when I read that, I have to say "bring it on". Then we can start from the bottom, and know we're making our way in the world, rather than living off the english udder. All this talk of "no one can afford us". Why should they?

We'll also find out who wants to live here.
I'd be happy to bet NI22 will be on the first boat out.

I would agree but like the Scottish Vote..... to many unknowns and too many people would not be happy giving up their nice comfy lives to start again or have to put in a bit more effort....

....... Oh, and English Udder !!!!! I now have a god awful mental picture of Her Mag with the baps out feeding the nation.......... Sooooooooooooooo Wrooooooooooooong !!

Seriously??? What a warped idea - and as far as I know, not an idea supported by any of the parties, even the dissidents!
Ireland belongs to the Irish people- whatever their religion, everyone is welcome.

Remember learning about the famine and how the Irish emigrated all around the world, they were allowed to practice their religion almost everywhere - even "Protestant" England.

What about atheists - are they allowed to live in your Irish Catholic utopia, and muslims, jews etc??

Apart from when their churches and Orange halls are attacked, apart from when the Catholic church had a stranglehold and refused to recognise the Protestant religion (does it even do this now?). I know of many Protestants in the ROI who would like a Unionist political party but fear an enormous backlash from their Catholic neighbours if one was to be formed.

The ROI has a long way to go yet.

Attacks on Protestant churches are few and far between in the South, and are probably usually the result of vandalism not discrimination, there are probably also attacks on catholic churches.
There may be a limited number of sectarian attacks but not many now, no one I know in the south cares what religion people are.

The nationalists could learn a lot from the South about how to treat the protestants. Take a look at the peaceful family day out at Rossknowlagh every summer for the Orange order parade.

Nationlists in the North need to make sure that Protestants are included in any plans for a united Ireland, make sure they still feel welcome in the new Ireland, make sure their culture is still allowed and in fact is respected.

The history of Ireland will always be intertwined with Britain, so obviously there will be people who want to celebrate this history, equally there will be people who view the British in a much more negative way, and don't understand why people should be allowed to celebrate Britishness.

One of the main reasons for my support for a UI is that I believe strongly that it is the only way there will every be everlasting peace, it might take 100 years, but eventually there will be. The presence of a border on this small island means that the past will never be forgotten, but without the border, given time it could be.

I want to live in a country where I can walk around in a GAA or fly the flag of my county on my car, without worrying about accidently straying into the wrong area, I also want my protestant neighbours to be able to have their annual day out in peace, with no contentious parades, and I want all of us to not be afraid to reveal our religion

All very nice, I know, but like a lot of places across the world, extremists wreck it. Take a look at a map of the Balkans or even little cyprus, with a border across it. It only takes a few zealots to upset things. NI22 is presumably old enough to remember the troubles and it doesn't stop him from ranting like ISIS.

A TV show last month asked "who won the war?". Everybody lost. Grinding, dispiriting nastiness, year after year, blighting everyone's lives.

Quert, you criticise me but what exactly are you? I'll tell you nothing. You have no religion or culture and only want to remain apart of the UK for financial reasons.

You've told us a fair bit already.
